Why sell your Japanese import to us

Japanese import specialists

JDM performance cars, MPVs, 4x4s, vans and kei cars are what we know. We value them on their merits, not on a UK price guide.

Right-hand drive, ready to go

Japan drives on the left, so Japanese-market cars are right-hand drive, just like ours. We know the import side inside out.

Export papers understood

Export certificate, de-registration certificate, auction sheet and translations: we know what each one tells us.

Paid before we drive away

Bank transfer while our driver is with you, usually cleared in minutes. You never release the car until you're happy.

No hidden fees

No admin, BACS or transfer fees. We don't charge to value or to collect your car in the UK.

Finance settled

Outstanding UK finance is settled as part of the sale, even if you owe more than the car is worth.

Kilometres welcome

Most Japanese imports read in km. That is fine: give us the reading and say it is in km.

Modified? Unregistered?

Modifications are welcome, and unregistered imports on export papers are considered. Tell us what you have.

Family run, 20+ years

An independent, family-run business with over 20 years in the motor trade. Open 7 days a week.

Japanese import paperwork, made simple

The documents that come with a Japanese import, what they're for, and which ones we need from you.

Export cert

Export certificate

Issued when the car is taken off the Japanese register for export. It shows the chassis number and first registration date.

De-reg cert

De-registration certificate

The permanent de-registration paperwork. Kei cars have their own version of it.

Auction sheet

Auction sheet

The Japanese auction house's inspection report: grade, mileage check and condition notes.

Shaken

Shaken history

Japan's strict roadworthiness inspection. Old shaken papers are a useful part of the car's history.

NOVA & IVA

NOVA, IVA and MOT

Every import must be notified to HMRC. Cars under 10 years old usually need an IVA test to be registered.

V5C

UK registration (V5C)

Once the car is registered here, the V5C is the document that matters.

Who sells their Japanese import to us

Enthusiasts moving on

Time for the next project, or the garage is needed back? We value your JDM car as an enthusiast car, not a trade-in.

MPV and camper owners

The Alphard, Elgrand or Delica that carried the family, or a Bongo or Hiace camper conversion. We buy them all.

Part-way through importing

Bought at auction in Japan and found the NOVA, IVA and registration more work than expected? Talk to us before you spend more.

Sell my Japanese car FAQs

What kinds of Japanese cars do you buy?

JDM performance cars like the Skyline GT-R, Supra, Silvia, RX-7, Evo and Impreza STI; MPVs like the Alphard, Vellfire, Estima, Elgrand and Delica; 4x4s like the Land Cruiser, Prado and Pajero; vans like the Hiace; and kei cars and kei trucks. Any condition.

Are Japanese imports left-hand drive?

No. Japan drives on the left, like the UK, so Japanese-market cars are right-hand drive. That makes them easy to use here, and it is one reason they are so popular.

My import is not registered in the UK yet. Can I still sell it?

Unregistered imports are considered. Tell us which documents you hold, such as the export certificate or de-registration certificate and any NOVA or customs paperwork, and we will explain what we need.

The odometer reads in kilometres. Is that a problem?

No. Give us the reading and tell us it is in km.

I have the Japanese auction sheet. Should I send it?

Yes please. The auction sheet, with its grade and condition notes, helps us understand the car and price it properly.

Do modifications lower the price?

Not usually. Modifications are welcome. Give us a full list, with photos and receipts where you can.

How will I be paid?

By bank transfer while our driver is with you. Funds usually clear within minutes, and we never ask you to hand over the car until the money is in your account.

Is collection really free?

Yes, anywhere in the UK, including storage units and import agents' yards if you can arrange access. You choose the time.

My car is in mainland Europe. Can you collect it?

We can collect from mainland Europe: tell us where it is and we'll explain what's possible.

What is the 7-day price hold?

Once we've made you an offer, it stays fixed for seven days so you have time to decide.

Will you tell me a price on the website?

No. Every car is different, so we value each one individually. Send the details and we'll come back with a free, no-obligation offer.
